5 REASONS TO BE GRATEFUL

  1. YOU ARE BREATHING
You are alive. That is a wonderful thing. Take a deep breath and be grateful that you have the ability to do so. Realize that lots of people stopped breathing today.
  2. YOU CAN READ THIS ARTICLE
This means that you were taught how to read. There are still many people around the world, especially women, who do not have access to education. It also means that you have access to the internet. The internet is an amazing tool that connects all of us and gives us access to a wealth of information.
  3. YOU CAN CHOOSE HOW YOU REACT TO LIFE
As the saying goes, we cannot choose what happens to us but we can choose how we react to it. This ability should almost be considered a superpower. By choosing to not judge reality, we can accept the present moment as it is. And we can live in peace with reality.
  1. YOU HAVE FOOD
It’s safe to assume that you have access to food and water. Not going to bed hungry is something we can all be grateful for. We can even remind ourselves to be grateful before each time we sit down to eat.
  2. YOU HAVE A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD
Whether it is really hot or cold outside today, keeping yourself protected from the elements is something very important. As you know, many people do not have this luxury and are homeless. We can remind ourselves how lucky we are to have a comfortable bed to sleep in every night.

We hope that one of these things resonated with you and made you feel grateful today. If you like, you can even remind yourself to do this daily by keeping a gratitude journal. Every day, either when you wake up or before you go to bed, you can list a couple of things that you felt grateful for that day.

By making this a small daily routine, you will have a very powerful tool against days when you’re feeling down. You can simply think through all the things you appreciate in your life and you will quickly feel much better and present to the moment.
